All tap, ballet, lyrical and jazz students of All About Dance are required to wear a black leotard with any color skirt or dance shorts/pants to dance class.  Tap shoes should be black. Ballet shoes should be pink for girls and black for boys. Jazz shoes should be tan.  Hip hop students are required to wear black sneakers, hip hop pants and a t-shirt. Tumbling students are required to wear a tight-fitting shirt that will not rise up when tumbling and shorts. All dancers must have their hair pulled in a ponytail or bun. Students need to bring their own water to class if desired. We do have a water refill station for students to refill their water bottles. Food, candy, gum and drinks other than water ARE NOT PERMITTED in the dance studio. All required dance attire is available for purchase through our dancewear store.

All About Dance will close in accordance with the following Midlothian Independent School District days:

Labor Day
Thanksgiving Break
Christmas Break
Spring Break
Memorial Day

In case of inclement weather, call or check the website to see if the studio is closed. We may open even if MISD is closed if the roads have cleared by the afternoon.

Parents are invited to observe their child's class one week around the holidays. Reminder notes will be given to the dancers closer to this date. We do have a 2-way mirrored glass for parents to view your dancer during class from the lobby. The door is to remain closed during classtime unless otherwise noted by Mrs. Lindsey.

Our annual recital will be held during the month of May. A recital package must be purchased for your student to participate in the recital. Every student is required to have a costume for each dance he/she participates in. Costume fees are $75.00 per costume. We offer a fundraiser at the beginning of the dance season to help pay for the costume and recital fees. Many students end up not having to pay for costumes because of the fundraiser! Total costume balances will be due by the first lesson of the month of December. Costumes not paid for in full by this date will not be ordered! No exceptions! Costume and recital fees are non-refundable and may be rolled in with September – December tuition to ensure payment. The studio may also have additional performances throughout the year. Students will wear their required dance class attire for these performances. These performances are optional, but will provide an opportunity for our dancers to gain experience and can also be great fun! Dates and times of such events will be posted in the lobby, online and given in handouts.

For your child’s safety, please do not leave him/her unattended in the lobby before or after class. Also, please do not allow them to climb on the furniture in the lobby or the rails outside. All About Dance is not responsible for students and siblings outside the dance studio.

We look forward to yet another successful year here at All About Dance!

Thank you,

Mrs. Lindsey
